Green cumin, scientifically known as Cuminum cyminum L., belongs to the Apiaceae family. It is an annual, aromatic, hairless plant (except for its fruit) with an herbaceous stem that branches into two or sometimes three sections. The stem is grooved and contains peripheral collenchyma tissue.
This small, herbaceous annual plant grows up to 60 cm in height. Its root is long, slender, and white, while its stem is upright. The leaves are narrow, thread-like, and green in color.
